The origins of the company Léon Roche, a wheelwright by trade…
It was on May 8, 1945, a highly symbolic date, that Léon ROCHE, our grandfather, who until then had been established as a wheelwright in Aubenasson (Drôme), decided to transfer his activity to two small workshops located in the commune of Aouste sur Sye.
Previously focused on the manufacture and repair of wooden wheels, dump trucks and small wooden trailers for agricultural use, Léon ROCHE decided in 1948 to refocus his business on more contemporary trailers, developing a mechanical welding business in this respect.
Transition to a regional market Creation of a first workshop
In 1955, after expanding its market to a regional area, it diversified into the production of manure spreaders. As business grew (particularly due to regular participation in all regional agricultural fairs) and space became an issue, in 1962, Léon ROCHE purchased a 4,000 m² plot of land on the western outskirts of the village of Aouste sur Sye, to build a workshop.
Transition to a national market Creation of a limited liability company (SARL) thanks to family support
Although he had always worked alone since setting up his business, his sons joined him in his company: Maurice, the eldest, in 1964, then Jacques in 1967 and finally Jean-Paul in 1972. Following this family reinforcement, which allowed the company to continue its development by opening up to a now national market, they formed the SARL Roche Père et Fils in 1977.
At the same time, they strengthened our commercial policy with active participation in several major national trade fairs. This development required them, in 1984, to undertake a significant expansion of their premises, along with a modernization of their equipment.
Succession is ensured with the arrival of two of his grandchildren: Frédéric in 1997 in the workshops for manufacturing, Valérie in 2001 in the offices for all the administrative part, continuing to invent and design new vehicles in order to satisfy all expectations.

Today, by consistently prioritizing innovation, the modernization of our production, management, and marketing tools, along with the development of new processes, forms the basis of our ongoing investment policy. This strategy allows us to export our expertise to 14 countries across 5 continents.
